Details
This shows one of the saddest ends of a Roman Emperor.
Valerian was taken captive by the Sassanid Persian Emperor Shapur. He then proceeded to use him as a mounting stool for getting on to his horse. Once he tired of that he had him flayed and his skin presented as a decoration at court. Nasty!
