Austria was the only one of the major nations not to field elite 'Guard' Formations. Instead, the Austrians assembled large Grenadier Divisions. These represented the cream of the Army and were the best infantry the Austrian Empire put onto the battlefield.

This Austrian Formation includes everything necessary to assemble a Mid War Austrian Grenadier Division, or its battalions may be dispersed among infantry Formations to strengthen them in the Early War.
