FR609 Velites of Florence/Turin (10mm)
This pack contains thirty six Velites of the Guard. Each pack includes thirty three infantry, one drummer, one Eagle bearer and one Officer.
They can be used for both the Velites of Turin and the Velites of Florence. The Velites of Turin were raised to defend the Palace of Prince Borghese. The Officers were drawn from the Grenadiers a Pied and the rank and file were Italian. The Regiment appears to have been well rated and was presented with a flag in 1810.
The Velites of Florence were raised to Guard the Emperor's young sister, Elisa, Grand-Duchess of Tuscany. Its Officers were drawn from the Chasseurs a Pied and the rank and file were Italian. It did not receive a flag.
