N501 M60A1 (1:285)
This pack contains five M60A1 tanks.
First entering service in 1960, the M60 was a significant improvement in American Tank design. It was in essence an evolution of the M48 Patton design but with a 105mm gun represented a large boost in combat power.
Modern tanks tend to blend speed, armour and firepower in what is essentially a medium/heavy design. The M60 was the first time America achieved this in a tank design.
It still had flaws, the tank was very tall making it an easier target. It also had problems with cross country performance. The large body and turret however allowed a lot of room for improvements in design and the latest versions of the M60 are still in service in various countries today.
