Details
This pack contains a single D3A1 Val dive bomber.
The Aichi Val was the main Japanese dive bomber of the Second World War. It was used in China and against the Americans, British, Australians and Dutch. It was responsible for sinking more allied ships than any other Axis aircraft. It was a highly effective dive bomber although the bomb load was comparatively light.
As the war progressed some Vals were used as fighters with little effect. It was replaced as a dive bomber by the Susie but pressed back into service as a Kamikaze aircraft.
Its range was 840 miles and maximum speed 267 mph.
