USA012 P40E Kittyhawk (1:285)
This pack contains one P40E Kittyhawk. The Kittyhawk was the British/Soviet name for the P40 Warhawk. The P40 is a bit of an enigma as an aircraft. It was inferior to the main Axis aircraft it came up against, the Bf-109 and Zero, neither was it as effective as the Spitfire. Despite this, it performed well particularly against the less heavily armoured Japanese aircraft it encountered, achieving good kill ratios. It was not as rugged as other American aircraft and had higher loss rates as well. It also proved useful as a ground attack aircraft, another example of versatility improving the impact of an otherwise average aircraft.
